Dr. SHAHANA UROOJ KAZMI is a distinguished microbiologist, academic leader, and researcher with over 40 years of experience in teaching, research, and higher education administration. She has served in several senior leadership roles, including Chairperson of the Department of Microbiology, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, and Acting Vice-Chancellor at the University of Karachi. She also served as Member of the Animal Sciences Division at the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council and held leadership positions such as Rector/Vice Chancellor at Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education. Currently, she serves as Dean and Director of the Faculty of Science at LCMS, Karachi. Dr. SHAHANA UROOJ KAZMI earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Maryland, USA. She has supervised more than 90 graduate students and published over 100 research papers. Her research focuses on infectious diseases, immunology, food and water-borne pathogens, and biosafety. She has received international recognition, including awards from the American Society for Microbiology.
